Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Church Pianist to enrich our worship services and musical programs. This vital role involves accompanying congregational singing and choir performances and supporting various church events with musical excellence. The ideal candidate will bring a vibrant energy, a deep understanding of liturgical music, and a versatile skill set that spans multiple musical styles. Your musical talents will inspire spiritual connection and foster a welcoming atmosphere for our congregation. Our choir sings choral arrangements of contemporary songs and traditional general anthems by composers such as Joseph Martin, Abby Lockaby, Mary McDonald, Lloyd Larson, et al.
You will work under the supervision of the Minister of Music.
Responsibilities
· Accompany congregational hymns and liturgical music during worship services using piano.
· Be kind and courteous to members of the choir and the church, reflecting the welcoming ethos of our church.
· Collaborate with church leadership to select appropriate music when tasked with playing solo pieces (such as preludes, offertory, and communion songs).
· Be available to play funerals.
· Play hymns, choral accompaniments and special selections for holidays and events.
· Read sheet music fluently.
Experience
- Proven experience performing religious music in a church or similar setting.
- Experience performing piano music across different genres, showcasing versatility and technical proficiency.
Pay: $12,000.00 - $16,000.00 per year
