We're looking for a Part Time Assistant Manager that will show up fully to join our team!
As an Assistant Manager, you'll have responsibilities of managing our business like it’s your own in collaboration with the Property Manager.
The Pay and Work Schedule:
- Competitive pay up to 16.00 per hour DOE.
- 16-24 hours per week depending on business needs. (Perfect for someone retired, going to school, or just needs that great part time job)
- Flexible Schedule, but Saturdays are a required work day.
Here's how you'd make an impact and be successful:
- As an Assistant Manager, you will manage the day to day operations of a storage facility and provide a first class storage experience, excellent customer service, and help customers realize First Choice Storage is the best choice.
- To help achieve facility goals, you'll utilize your strong sales and marketing abilities to rent storage units, up-sell boxes and moving supplies, and increase brand awareness in the local community.
- You'll learn how to use our self storage sales best practices to convert storage rental prospects to customers.
- You'll need to have a positive attitude and strong sales skills over the phone and in-person.
- Create relationships with nearby area businesses and implement marketing strategies.
- Moving can be very stressful for customers. Our job is to make it easier for them by identifying our customer's needs, create a personalized storage solution, and deliver a First Choice Storage rental experience.
- Manage daily payments (cash, check, and credit cards) and making timely bank deposits.
- Keep a clean, professional appearance inside the office and outside on the property. We spend a sufficient amount of time outside ensuring the property is clean, safe, and has a welcoming presence. Some of these tasks will be, but not limited to, sweeping out units/aisles, performing lock-checks on units, spraying weeds, picking up trash, and performing other general maintenance tasks.
- Maintaining low accounts receivables by performing collection calls to delinquent tenants, keeping up-to-date detailed notes on accounts, and communicating with customers by sending email notices and SMS/text messages.
The passion and skills you'd want to have:
- Excellent verbal and communication skills are key as you are the face and front line of the business. "You" will be the reason many customers choose to store their belongings with us vs. the competition.
- Outgoing, engaging personality that takes a proactive role when handling customer requests/issues and daily tasks such as: calling new leads to reserve units, managing daily unit inventory, and replying back to existing customers in a timely manner.
- Strong computer skills and competency is needed to navigate our main operations software program, Windows, internet browsers, and other applications. You'll learn how to efficiently navigate and operate various software platforms used by the company to perform daily operations tasks.
- A minimum of 2 years experience in a customer-focused position such as in self-storage (highly preferred), retail sales associate, hotel industry and/or other customer focused industries.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license is a must. On a rare occasion, willingness to travel to our other locations for the day to assist and/or run another facility. Mileage and/or Tolls will be reimbursed.

Prior Storage Experience: If you have experience working in the self storage industry at firms like Extra Space, Public Storage, and CubeSmart, you will want to explore this opportunity. Team members have also come to us with experience from the car rental, hotel, tourism, real estate, and rent-to-own furniture industries.
