We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Leasing Specialist to join our property management team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing leasing activities, maintaining positive tenant relationships, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. This role requires strong administrative skills, excellent customer service, and a thorough understanding of property leasing processes and Fair Housing regulations. The Leasing Specialist will play a vital role in maximizing occupancy rates while providing exceptional service to prospective and current tenants.
Duties
- Manage the leasing process from initial inquiry to lease signing, including conducting property tours and explaining lease terms.
- Maintain accurate data entry and filing of tenant information using property management software.
- Ensure compliance with all legal requirements related to landlord-tenant law and Fair Housing regulations.
- Handle tenant applications, background checks, and screening processes efficiently.
- Negotiate lease agreements and contracts while upholding company policies and legal standards.
- Assist with rent collection, lease renewals, and upselling additional services or amenities to tenants.
- Coordinate property maintenance requests and communicate effectively with facilities management teams.
- Manage conflict resolution between tenants or prospective tenants professionally and tactfully.
- Maintain excellent phone etiquette when interacting with tenants, prospects, vendors, and team members.
- Support marketing efforts and sales techniques to attract new tenants.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in property management
- Proficiency with computer and property management software
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle conflict management effectively.
- Experience in sales or upselling within a property leasing environment; negotiation skills are essential.
- Office experience including phone etiquette, data entry accuracy, and administrative tasks such as filing.
- Knowledge of Fair Housing regulations
