What are the responsibilities and job description for the Superintendent position at First Choice Contracting?
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide daily on-site leadership, overseeing all construction activities and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards
- Enforce company safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment for all personnel and subcontractors
- Maintain an organized, clean, and professional job site, working closely with trade partners to uphold project standards
- Coordinate and manage the day-to-day operations of all trades, including scheduling, task assignments, and performance oversight
- Partner with Project Managers to support labor planning, equipment and material deliveries, critical path scheduling, and project updates
- Identify and resolve potential issues proactively to minimize delays and maintain project momentum
- Facilitate clear communication between the office, field crews, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure alignment and productivity
- Maintain a strong focus on client satisfaction, keeping their mission and vision front and center throughout project execution
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience supervising commercial construction and renovation projects
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to drive projects forward
- Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural, structural, and engineering drawings and specifications
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities, with the capability to manage multiple trades and maintain a productive, team-oriented job site
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Willingness and flexibility to travel to out-of-state projects as needed- 50% of time
- Experience with ProCore or other construction management software is a plus
- Drug-free and able to successfully pass all mandatory background checks
Candidates need to be highly organized and enjoy the challenges of working on an active construction site with Team Members (at all levels) including Architects, Subcontractors, and others. Excellent time management skills, assessment, and implementation skills are required for this position.
Pay: $61,595.74 - $120,000.00 per year
