Security Installation Technician

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in commercial security installations and service work, including access control systems, CCTV/surveillance systems, structured cabling, and low-voltage troubleshooting. As a Level 2–3 technician, you should be comfortable working independently in the field, completing service calls, assisting with project execution, training lower-level technicians when needed, and handling day-to-day field responsibilities with minimal supervision. You should understand how to maintain professionalism on active job sites while representing the company in front of customers, project managers, and other trades.

Daily responsibilities may include installing and troubleshooting card readers, electric strikes, mag locks, request-to-exit devices, motion detectors, intercoms, IP cameras, NVRs, network equipment, and structured cabling infrastructure. Candidates should be comfortable running and terminating Cat5e/Cat6 cable, working in MDFs/IDFs, labeling and dressing cable properly, reading blueprints and floor plans, and assisting with system testing and commissioning. Experience with access control and surveillance platforms such as Verkada, Avigilon, Genetec, Lenel, DSX, Brivo, Axis, OpenPath, or similar systems is highly preferred. Experience with conduit work, lift work, and commercial construction environments is also a major plus.

This role requires someone who can think critically in the field and solve problems as they arise. We want technicians who take ownership of their work, keep clean and organized job sites, communicate issues before they become problems, and understand the importance of timelines, customer relationships, and accountability.

Requirements for this position include prior commercial low-voltage/security experience, a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, the ability to work on ladders and lifts, and strong troubleshooting skills. Candidates should be comfortable using hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and mobile applications used for field reporting and communication. Travel may be required depending on project location, and some after-hours or weekend work may occasionally be necessary depending on customer schedules and project deadlines.
