What are the responsibilities and job description for the Crisis Text Line Specialist position at First Call for Help of Itasca County ~New Leaf...?
Chat/Text Counselors will be responsible for utilizing Crisis Chat and Text services to provide crisis intervention, emotional support, and resources to all help-seekers. A high emphasis is placed on quality assurance for this role. In-Person position / No Remote Positions available.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must Qualify Under MN BCA background study to provide services designated within your position.
2. Must be at least 21 years of age and hold a high School diploma or equivalent.
TCC Primary Duties
1. Offers crisis-counseling services via chat and text.
2. Completes risk assessment, safety planning, de-escalation, and follow-up with Chat/Text visitors.
3. Serves as a mandated reporter in cases of suspected abuse or neglect.
4. Is familiar with resources and providing information and referrals to visitors as appropriate.
5. Maintains accurate and detailed chat/text reports. Documentation must be completed in real time.
6. Fulfills continuing education requirements as requested or required for the agency and the Suicide Prevention Center program.
7. Attends all manditory scheduled meetings for the Suicide Prevention Center.
8. Work in collaboration with the Crisis Call Center when 9-1-1 dispatch is needed for text or chat participant.
9. Obtain and Maintain all certification of this position which include but are not limited to: HIPAA, VAMR, DHS Crisis Modules, ASIST, PsychArmor, Vibrant CEU’s.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
