Duties
- Install, inspect, test, and maintain fire suppression systems including pre-engineered and custom-designed solutions.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, system design documents, and CAD drawings to ensure precise system setup.
- Conduct construction inspections to verify compliance with safety codes, NEC (National Electrical Code), and industry standards.
- Service fire sprinkler fittings, sensors, alarms, and low voltage electrical components using hand tools and power tools.
- Perform system troubleshooting to diagnose issues with fire alarm systems, sensors, and electrical circuits; recommend repairs or upgrades.
- Collaborate with construction teams during system installation phases to ensure proper integration of mechanical and electrical components.
- Engage in field service activities including system testing, calibration, repairs, and customer training on alarm system sales and fire alarm sales processes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a service technician in fire protection or related fields such as construction inspection or mechanical systems.
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, system design principles, and CAD software.
- Hands-on experience with fire sprinkler fitting, low voltage wiring, sensors, alarms, and electrical systems aligned with NEC standards.
- Mechanical aptitude with proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for installation and maintenance tasks.
- Familiarity with construction processes and ability to read technical schematics related to fire alarm systems.
- Electrical experience including troubleshooting sensors, alarms, switches, relays, and control panels.
- Excellent field service skills with the ability to diagnose issues efficiently and communicate solutions clearly.
- Knowledge of fire alarm systems sales processes is a plus; enthusiasm for providing exceptional customer service is essential.
