VPK Teacher

Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated VPK (Voluntary Prekindergarten) Teacher to inspire young learners and foster their early childhood development. Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and social skills.
• Create a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages exploration, creativity, and respectful interactions among children.
• Manage classroom activities efficiently through effective classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies.
• Conduct assessments to monitor each child's progress, including standardized testing when appropriate, and adapt lessons to meet individual needs.
• Incorporate diverse teaching methods such as Montessori principles or other child-centered approaches to enhance learning experiences.
• Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate children's progress, developmental milestones, and behavioral observations regularly.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment that adheres to childcare regulations and promotes child welfare.
• Plan engaging lessons that incorporate early intervention strategies, literacy education, math concepts, physical activities, and social-emotional learning.
• Support children with special education needs by implementing tailored instructional strategies and collaborating with specialists when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with all licensing requirements related to daycare and preschool standards while fostering an inclusive environment for all children.

Qualifications

• Valid VPK or early childhood education certification/license required; additional credentials in special education or Montessori teaching are a plus.
• Proven experience working with young children in preschool or daycare settings; classroom experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management techniques, and classroom management skills.
• Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, standardized testing procedures, and literacy education methods.
• Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
