Responsibilities

- Manage classroom activities efficiently through effective classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies.
- Conduct assessments to monitor each child's progress, including standardized testing when appropriate, and adapt lessons to meet individual needs.
- Incorporate diverse teaching methods such as Montessori principles or other child-centered approaches to enhance learning experiences.
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate children's progress, developmental milestones, and behavioral observations regularly.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment that adheres to childcare regulations and promotes child welfare.
- Plan engaging lessons that incorporate early intervention strategies, literacy education, math concepts, physical activities, and social-emotional learning.
- Support children with special education needs by implementing tailored instructional strategies and collaborating with specialists when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all licensing requirements related to daycare and preschool standards while fostering an inclusive environment for all children.
Qualifications
- Valid VPK or early childhood education certification/license required; additional credentials in special education or Montessori teaching are a plus.
- Proven experience working with young children in preschool or daycare settings; classroom experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management techniques, and classroom management skills.
- Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, standardized testing procedures, and literacy education methods.
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
