Status: Part Time 29 hours / Salaried beginning $19.00/hr

Location: Wake Village, Texas

Purpose

The Children's Minister of First Baptist Church Wake Village exists to lead, equip, and minister to children (Kindergarten through 5th grade) and their families toward a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. This ministry is rooted in the command of Christ to "make disciples… teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you."

Responsibilities

1. Leadership and Oversight

"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men."

Lead, plan, and oversee all children's ministry programs, including Sunday mornings, Wednesday nights, Vacation Bible School, camp, and other special events as directed by the Senior Pastor. Recruit and train volunteers who serve in children's ministries, equipping the saints for the work of ministry. Work closely with the Senior Pastor, Student Minister, and staff to integrate children's ministry into the overall mission and strategy of the church.

2. Teaching and Discipleship

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom." Ensure that all teaching materials are biblically faithful, gospel-centered, and consistent with the church's statement of faith. Recognize parents as the primary disciple-makers in the lives of children. Develop a pathway for children's discipleship that partners with parents to lead their children to maturity. Teach and model the gospel regularly and encourage children to participate in corporate worship and transition into the life of the church.

3. Administration and Communication

"Let all things be done decently and in order." Develop and manage the annual children's ministry budget as a faithful steward of God's resources. Maintain security policies for check-in, check-out, and volunteer screening. Communicate effectively with parents and volunteers.

4. Family and Church Integration

"We, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another."Equip parents as the primary disciple-makers through resources and encouragement. Foster strong relationships between the children's ministry and the broader church to promote intergenerational discipleship, participating in staff meetings and church-wide events.

Qualifications

A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a growing relationship with Him.

A demonstrated call to ministry and passion for children's discipleship.

Agreement with the doctrinal statement and philosophy of FBC Wake Village. Proven leadership with volunteers and strong communication skills.

Relationships

The Children's Minister serves under the supervision of the Senior Pastor and works in close cooperation with the pastoral staff, church committees, and volunteer teams, submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ. This position directly oversees all children's ministry volunteers, shepherding them with humility and joy.
