Ministry Assistant - Worship Ministry

STATUS: This position is considered part-time 28 hours/week exempt by the ministerial exception. Actual schedule for hours in-office is flexible, but typical schedule is Monday-Thursday, 8:30am-4:30pm, with a 1-hour lunch.

PRINCIPLE FUNCTION: To provide support to Pastors and Ministry Leaders by assisting in the administrative and ministerial needs of church ministries across campuses, facilitating opportunities for the church membership to engage in ministry, and promoting the ministry and mission of the church. Worship Ministry serves all members and guests of First Baptist Rogers, with an intentionally strategic focus on Worship Choir, Band, Orchestra, Student Creative Bands, Preschool/Kids Choirs and Saints Alive Choir.

PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS:

· Basic office skills (making copies, sending emails, answering phone calls).

· Knowledge of the Church's TouchPoint software or experience with similar ministry database programs.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

· A calling to serve God in a church staff position.

· Ability to work well with others in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

· Knowledge of Planning Center Online, Praise Charts and scanning music. It would be helpful to have a cursory knowledge of music, but can be learned on the job.

· Confess to be a born-again Christian and to have made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

· Believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative, inerrant Word of God.

· Accept the Baptist Faith and Message of the Southern Baptist Convention without reservation.

· Agree to the Code of Conduct of First Baptist Church of Rogers.

· Manifest, by daily example, the highest Christian virtue serving as a Christian role model both in and out of church.

· Become a member of and faithfully attend and support First Baptist Rogers.

JOB DUTIES:

· Provide administrative and ministerial support to the Pastors and Ministry Leaders of the church, with primary support being for the Executive Pastor of Worship Ministries.

· Receive and direct Worship office guests as necessary

· Purchase music from various publishers

· Upload and manage music in Planning Center Online (PCO)

· Print and prepare music as needed for choir, orchestra and accompanists

· Prepare/submit ongoing Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) reports

· Maintain the Music Library

· Assist Worship Ministry Coordinator (WMC) as needed, including large events such as Music Retreat, Christmas, Easter, Global Impact Celebrations, etc.

· Assist WMC with Wednesday rehearsals and Sunday Morning services as needed

· Attend monthly Staff Prayer Gatherings

· Attend Ministry Assistant Meetings twice monthly

· Collaborate with members and other ministries in preparation for baptisms and parent/child dedications

· Other duties as assigned to facilitate effective ministry and to fulfill the mission of the church.

· Under the direction of Pastors and Ministry Leaders, assist in the education of the members of the church in the faith by inculcating teachings of the faith and training members to live out their faith and fulfill the mission of the church to make disciples of all nations.
