What are the responsibilities and job description for the Student Minister position at FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH OF LEON SPRINGS?
Position Summary
The Student Minister (Grades 6–12) will disciple students, build a Christ-centered community, contribute to a healthy staff, and communicate a clear ministry vision aligned with the LSBC vision while partnering with families and volunteers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead weekly student gatherings with strong teaching and relational discipleship.
- Equip students with sound doctrine to think biblically.
- Recruit, equip, and support volunteers and/or interns.
- Provide pastoral care, including individual guidance and counseling.
- Plan and lead retreats, mission trips, and special events.
- Partner with parents to support students’ spiritual growth.
- Preach and communicate the gospel effectively in various settings.
- Manage student ministry communication across digital and print platforms.
- Create graphics/content using tools like Canva or Adobe Suite.
- Collaborate with church-wide communication efforts.
- Communicate regularly with the Director of Family Ministries.
- Develop and manage ministry budgets.
Qualifications
- Growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 1–2 years of ministry experience (desired).
- Skills in communication and basic graphic design (desired).
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Team-focused, adaptable, relational and a self-starter.
- Be a member of LSBC and participate in churchwide functions.
- Be teachable and attend recommended training.
- Complete background checks and abide by all safety policies.
- Ability to work evenings/weekends as needed.
Salary will reflect ministry experience and communication/media abilities. Full time is preferred, but will consider part time/bi-vocational.
