Job Overview
This position is responsible for maintaining the church financial records, for paying church obligations, preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, and general supervision and coordination of financial staff at First Baptist Church.
Supervisor
All employees of First Baptist Church work under the general supervision and direction of the pastor. The financial administrator is directly responsible to the Executive Pastor and the Secretary-Treasurer.
Duties
1. Receive, supervise counting and depositing of all church offerings according to policies, as assigned.
2. Post receipts and disbursements of all accounts according to the church financial system.
3. Post offerings weekly to individual accounts.
4. Prepare bank reconciliation statements monthly.
5. Prepare financial reports for the Secretary-Treasurer, Finance Committee, and for church conferences, prepare monthly and annual financial statements.
6. Make monthly, quarterly, and annual government reports.
7. Check and total all invoices when approved; inform responsible persons of their budget expenditures.
8. Receive and answer queries concerning financial matters; maintain file of invoices, correspondence, and reports.
9. Prepare and issue checks and electronic transfers in accordance with church policies.
10. Check and compute weekly timecards of hourly paid workers; issue payment checks to all employees.
11. Maintain personnel files.
12. Keep church membership and financial software updated.
13. Order yearly offering envelopes and statements.
14. Pick up mail at Post Office on assigned days.
15. Complete other duties as assigned.
