What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Pastor position at First Baptist Church of Emery?
First Baptist Church of Emery SD is seeking a full time Youth Pastor who will build relationships and guide students in their faith.
FBC has an active youth ministry including Sunday School and Wednesday evening programs.
Job Responsibilities:
Set aside time every week for personal study of scripture.
Provide engaging biblical teaching to middle school and high school students to win the lost, establish their faith, and strengthen their stand for Christ in every day life.
Teach high school Sunday School.
Lead high school Wednesday nights and middle school youth group two Sundays a month (games, worship, lessons).
Teach middle school VBS.
Meet with Pastor and church secretary to communicate and promote youth activities and meetings
Intentionally build relationships within the community with the youth
Regularly pray for and with the youth about their concerns and needs
Communicate often with the youth and parents about the weeks events
Participate in Sunday worship at the direction of deacons and pastor.
Plan extra activities for each youth group (service projects and outreach events)
Meet with various boards during the month to give reports of youth activities
Communicate with youth sponsors and plan each quarter
Serve as camp coordinator for summer camps
Organize and attend youth trips. Youth Gathering is every third year, mission trips for the other two.
Fundraise for mission trips.
Maintain regular office hours during the week.
First Baptist Church was established in 1886 and is located in Emery SD. A 24 Minute drive from Mitchell and 46 miles from Sioux Falls, The church serves a rural community which includes 6 area towns within a 30 mile radius.
