Next Steps Coordinator
Schedule: Sunday–Thursday * Full-Time
Reports To: Associate Pastor of Discipleship and Outreach
Mission Statement
The Next Steps Coordinator ensures the efficient operation of the church office Monday - Thursday and supports the work of the Associate Pastor of Discipleship and Outreach on
Sundays by facilitating guest services, visitor follow-up, and pathways for church involvement.
This position supports the pastoral team by supervising administrative and janitorial personnel,
managing systems that help members and guests engage more deeply in the life of the church,
and helping people take their next steps at FBC.
Primary Responsibilities
A. Connections & Next Steps (Sunday Responsibilities)
- Serve as the primary staff presence for guest services during Sunday morning worship.
- Oversee the functions of the CARE Team and welcome areas.
- Collect and process all connection cards and digital guest forms.
- Manage follow-up workflows for guests, membership inquiries, baptisms, groups, and
volunteers using church software systems.
- Assist families and new attendees with wayfinding and check-in procedures.
- Support and coordinate “Start Here” and “Next Steps” events for prospects and members.
- Provide weekly reporting on attendance trends, guest engagement, and follow-up
processes.
B. Office Management (Weekday Responsibilities)
- Supervise and evaluate the performance of clerical and janitorial staff.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for visitors, members, and callers during office
hours.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and hospitable office environment.
- Maintain membership and attendance records within church management software.
- Coordinate the preparation and distribution of the church’s Annual Report with church
staff and committees.
- Manage facility scheduling and event coordination systems.
- Communicate pastoral care information (hospitalizations, deaths, crises) to the
appropriate pastoral staff.
- Perform additional administrative tasks as needed by the ministerial staff.C. Communications
- Manage the church’s digital presence (website and social media) by working with the
Associate Pastor of Discipleship and Outreach
- Maintain and publish the church calendar.
- Prepare and publish the church newsletter, The Stream (digital or print).
- Prepare and print the weekly worship bulletin by working with the Associate Pastor of
Worship.
- Assist ministry staff in the creation of digital forms, schedules, and other forms of
communication using church software tools.

- Organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient with modern office software; familiarity with church management systems
preferred.
- Able to maintain strict confidentiality regarding personal and financial matters.
- Previous experience in administration, customer service, or ministry support is preferred.
Schedule
- Sunday: Required presence for morning worship and CARE Team activities
- Monday–Thursday: Standard office administration in coordination with church staff.
- Fridays and Saturdays off, except for major ministry events or special circumstances.
Pay: $29,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
