Full Time, 40 hours per week, Hourly Position

Starting pay: $17.00 per hour with a raise at 45 days up to $19.25 per hour, health care, retirement, vacation, and paid holidays.

Custodial/Maintenance Team Member

Principle Function: The Custodian/Maintenance Team member cleans and maintains the church facilities to maintain safety and attractiveness, while also serving on the building and grounds team to maintain the facilities.

Qualification & Skills:

• Professing Christian
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Have prior experience with cleaning and maintenance
• Ability to read and understand instructions for responsibilities
• Ability to follow a cleaning schedule without oversight
• General knowledge of tools and equipment
• Ability to safely handle and apply cleaning supplies and chemicals
• Physical ability to lift or move heavy equipment, operate light machinery, and work off ladders and scaffolding
• (Preferred) Electrical, Plumbing, or HVAC experience

Custodial Responsibilities:

For all Custodial responsibilities this position will work under the Custodial Team Lead to conduct scheduled daily, weekly, monthly, and annual facility cleaning operations as assigned.

• Clean bathrooms and kitchen; replenishing supplies as needed.
• Clean offices, worship center, fellowship hall, family life center, youth building, chapel, and common areas; dust furniture and equipment, wash walls and windows, maintain floors, etc.
• Deep clean or shampoo carpets as needed.
• Secure the buildings as needed; checking lights, and doors.
• Set up for and clean up following weddings, funerals, events, and dinners as directed.
• Request cleaning and maintenance supplies and equipment as needed.
• Move furniture, set up tables and chairs for special events and set up classrooms for regularly scheduled activities.
• Prepare the baptistery for use as directed and clean following use.
• Open and close buildings daily or as requested.
• Prepare facilities for special use as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Maintenance Responsibilities:

For all building maintenance this position will work under the supervision of the facilities manager directly. All duties will be assigned on an as needed basis and can include the following:

• Perform scheduled maintenance on HVAC/R equipment
• Perform scheduled maintenance on water system
• Replace light bulbs and ballasts
• Repair plumbing fixtures
• Repair and maintain furnishings within the facilities
• Pest control duties
• Assist in special projects with volunteer teams or with staff from other departments
• Clean, organize and maintain working areas to include the rear loading dock areas. This may include hauling items to and from storage, mission center, or waste facility.

Grounds Responsibilities:

For all grounds maintenance, this position will work under the supervision of the grounds keeper. All duties will be assigned on an as needed basis and can include the following:

• Perform scheduled grounds maintenance at Main Campus and Mission Center.
• Use outdoor equipment to include but not limited to: mower, blower, string trimmer, and edger.
• Complete tasks or work orders with little or no supervision.
• Work outside during cold or hot conditions.
• Willingness to learn turfgrass management practices: Irrigation, IPM and Cultural Practice.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
