Mortgage Loan Processor

As a Mortgage Loan Processor, you will assist our customers to realize their dream of owning their own home by preparing loan documentation, performing system entry and verifications and assisting underwriting to accurately and efficiently process mortgage loans. There are often tight deadlines and issues to be solved but that only adds to the challenge and sense of accomplishment of this position. Duties include:

Loan Processing:

• Work closely with Mortgage Lender and outside parties such as insurance companies, closing agent, attorneys, and appraisers in the processing of loans.
• Provide loan processing for the first mortgage real estate loans including loans that are sold to the secondary market. Upload underwriting and funding packages to secondary market for approval and fundings.
• Responsible for maintaining loans in pending for progress. This involves verification, underwriting support, document preparation, and input onto the core system, all of which will result in a complete and accurate loan file acceptable to bank regulations.
• Order appraisals, deliver to borrower based on regulation guidelines and review value based on loan.
• Submit applications to Private Mortgage Insurance approval, if applicable.
• Balance with closing agent to disburse funds at close.
• Checkback loans to fulfill the dual control requirement.

Loan Servicing:

• File and maintain loan records.
• Process escrow analysis on an annual basis.
• Process the distribution of escrowed property taxes on a semi-annual basis.
• Verify HMDA information and add to core system for reporting.
• Calculate, review and correct errors on existing mortgage loans as needed.
• Post payments to loans.

Department Servicing:

• Reconcile department general ledger accounts to maintain accurate accounting.
• Process and request payment of monthly department invoices.
• Update daily/weekly interest rates that affect real estate products.

Other:

• As part of the overall Bank's team of employees, this position is requested to help the other departments when needed.
• Responsible for ensuring customer service is provided in a high-quality manner.
• Additional work hours may be required during time of high loan volumes.
• Other duties as assigned.

For this position, a high school diploma is required and while previous loan processing experience is preferred is not required. Basic accounting experience is also a plus. The ability to work independently, prioritize and multitask are key to the role. In addition, confidentiality and the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing are important.
