Summary:  Personal Bankers have direct interface with current and potential Bank customers. They provide services which include opening new accounts, explaining Bank products and services, solving customer problems, and responding to other customer requests. A Personal Banker must possess a thorough knowledge of all Bank products and services, fully understand and adhere to all federal and state laws and the policies of the Bank, as well as handle conflict situations. A positive and professional customer service attitude is essential. Personal Bankers may participate in programs aimed at identifying new customers and enhance the services of existing customers. Personal Bankers report to the designated Branch Manager and Market PresidentPersonal Bankers provide Teller services to Bank customers by conducting transactions. 

The expectations for this personal banker position will be supporting all branches in the McComb market. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide high quality service to every customer i.e. smile, greet, address by name, timely assistance, etc.
  2. Develop working knowledge of bank products/services via training, Bank website, intranet information, meetings, etc.
  3. Protect customer privacy and maintain confidentiality
  4. Ability to multi-task and problem-solve
  5. Determine customer needs, explain products and services
  6. Telephone customers to welcome, thank and promote products.
  7. Participate in branch prospecting efforts
  8. Assist customers with requests such as stop payments, wire transfers, balance discrepancies, loan information, address changes etc.
  9. Serve as a liaison between customer and operational areas
  10. Maintain proficient knowledge of, and demonstrate ongoing compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to this position, ensure ongoing adherence to pertinent policies, procedures and internal controls, and meet all job-specific requirements in a timely fashion
  11. Routinely provide quality customer service and a positive banking experience by handling financial transactions (i.e. opening of accounts, cashing checks, etc.) with a professional attitude on both the teller line and platform
  12. Receive checking/savings deposits and withdrawals: verify cash, endorsements, identification, and issue receipts
  13. Determine proper funds availability for checks cashed or deposited based on Bank and regulatory requirements
  14. Process Regulation CC Holds, as needed
  15. Redeem U.S. Savings Bonds
  16. Issue money orders, cashier’s checks
  17. Open/assist customers with safe deposit box request – balance branch boxes monthly 
  18. Accept loan payments: verify payment amount, ensure proper loan payment code, and issue receipts
  19. Buy/sell cash from vault as necessary, ensuring teller drawer cash limits are not exceeded
  20. Balance teller drawer daily, including locating cash discrepancies 
  21. Perform end of day balancing and Teller Capture balancing 
  22. Complete Currency Transaction Reports (CTR), Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR), and Monetary Instrument Logs (MIL)
  23. Balance ATM and load cash into ATM
  24. Ensure workstation is properly supplied and neat
  25. Promote and maintain positive relations with all employees, contacts, customers, and potential customers.
  26. Represent the Bank in business development efforts and civic and community functions.
