First Bank & Trust is seeking an individual for a Relationship Banker position in Lynchburg, VA. Relationship Banker's play a key role in delivering exceptional financial services to our valued customers. Relationship Banker's are responsible for building strong relationships with clients, understanding their financial needs and goals, and providing personalized solutions to help them achieve financial success. This position combines customer service, sales, and financial expertise, making Relationship Banker's an integral part of our banking team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greet customers warmly and professionally, creating a welcoming atmosphere in the branch.
- Assist customers with account openings, closures, and maintenance, ensuring accuracy and adherence to banking policies.
- Conduct cash and non-cash transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, and fund transfers.
- Balance cash drawers and reconciling transactions at the end of each shift.
- Process loan payments, credit card advances, and other financial transactions.
- Identify customer financial needs through comprehensive profiling and active listening.
- Identify opportunities to cross-sell bank products and services to customers.
- Resolve customer inquiries, concerns, or complaints promptly and effectively.
- Collaborate with the branch to meet customer service and operational goals.
- Stay updated on banking regulations, product changes, and industry trends to provide accurate and up-to-date information to customers.
- Ensuring compliance with all banking policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Assist customers with account inquiries, resolving issues, and providing information on banking products and services.
- Responding to customer inquiries in person, over the phone, or via email.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND SKILLS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Higher education a plus
- Two or more years of retail sales or bank experience
- Cash handling experience preferred
- Strong listening and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- Working knowledge of Word and Excel
- Excellent networking skills
- Detail oriented and organized

- Ability to work Saturdays as required
