Business Relationship Banker

First Bank & Trust Company is seeking an experienced, relationship-focused banking professional to join our North Carolina team in Lillington as a Business Relationship Banker. In this role, you will partner with our lending and branch teams to develop profitable commercial deposit relationships, deliver exceptional service, support branch operations, and connect customers with the full range of banking solutions available to them.

• Develop and grow commercial deposit relationships throughout the North Carolina market.
• Identify business development opportunities through customers, business owners, real estate professionals, attorneys, accountants, and other community contacts.
• Promote treasury management and e-commerce solutions, including merchant services, remote deposit, Cash Manager, online banking, and mobile banking.
• Open and service deposit accounts while clearly explaining account features, rates, fees, restrictions, and related financial services.
• Partner with the Business Relationship Officer and lending team to establish goals and expand non-interest-bearing deposits.
• Recognize customer needs and make appropriate referrals to lending, Investment Management, Trust Services, and other areas of the Bank.
• Provide responsive support to merchant-services customers, including assistance with terminals, deposits, and chargebacks.
• Represent the Bank in the community and conduct business development calls to build lasting relationships.
• Support teller, vault, ATM, night-deposit, opening, and closing responsibilities as needed.
• Maintain accurate records, prepare branch activity reports, assist auditors, and follow all operational, security, and compliance requirements.

• Five or more years of banking experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or a related field preferred; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Strong business development, networking, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong math, accounting, problem-solving, and customer-service skills.
• Ability to build trust, identify customer needs, and connect customers with appropriate banking solutions.

• PTO Leave is 20 Days per year earned monthly.
