Commercial Roofing Technical Superintendent (Hands-On, Service & QC)
Location: Onalaska Job Type: Full-Time Pay: Competitive, based on experience
We are growing our commercial flat roofing division and are looking for a hands-on, experienced flat roofing professional to step into a key leadership role.
This position starts on the roof, not behind a desk. It is ideal for someone who:
- Is excellent at flat roof details and repairs
- Wants a clear path into a Commercial Superintendent role as the division grows
This is not a sales role and not an office-only superintendent position.
What You’ll Be Doing (First 12–18 Months)
- 40% – Service & Maintenance
- Commercial flat roof repairs and leak investigations
- 20% – Technical Detail Work
- Flashing, curbs, penetrations, terminations, transitions
- 20% – Quality Control
- Inspecting and directing installation crews
- 20% – Acting Superintendent
- Site coordination, client updates, logistics, safety oversight
As workload increases, this role transitions toward full-time superintendent responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Service & Repairs
- Diagnose and repair leaks on TPO, EPDM, PVC, Modified Bitumen, and BUR systems
- Perform permanent, professional repairs—not temporary patches
- Document work with photos and notes
- Provide ballpark pricing and scopes for small repairs (not sales)
Detail Work & Quality Control
- Perform high-skill detail work alongside installation crews
- Inspect work daily for quality and system compliance
- Stop work and direct corrections when needed
- Set and enforce workmanship standards
- Coordinate final approval with ownership or project management
Superintendent & Site Leadership
- Act as on-site point of contact for building owners and general contractors
- Provide daily or weekly progress updates
- Coordinate jobsite logistics:
- Telehandler delivery/pickup
- Material staging
- Street and parking lot safety areas
- Work closely with Project Managers (who handle scheduling)
Safety
- Enforce OSHA and company safety requirements
- Ensure fall protection and site safety measures are in place
- Address safety issues immediately

- 3–5 years of commercial flat roofing experience
- Strong hands-on knowledge of flat roofing systems and details
- Comfortable working on the roof and leading others
- Confident holding subcontractors accountable
- Strong communication skills

- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
