The Deli Assistant Manager is responsible for coordinating the regular functions of the Deli Department at an assigned store location. This position is responsible for overseeing ordering and ensuring that appropriate inventory levels are maintained for the department. In addition, this position is responsible for supervising Deli staff at the assigned store location. This supervision includes scheduling, evaluation and performance management of Deli department employees. This position is a key member of a department where cooperation is required to maintain staff morale, efficiency, quality products and excellent customer service. Cooperation and communication with Deli Assistant Manager at other store location, as well as Commissary management, is vital to the success of the Deli department as a whole. Occasionally, this position takes on additional duties in order to substitute for the Department Manager’s absence, including direct interim supervision of department staff.
