We are looking for Lead Fire Alarm Installers/Foremen who are eager to grow within the organization. These individuals need to possess clear communication skills and an ability to think quickly on their feet while using hardware and hand tools as needed. The Lead Technician should be specialized in engineered systems installations on intrusion security and/or fire alarms, video, and access control while helping clients repair and maintain equipment which will include troubleshooting the equipment and advising customers on how to use the equipment while following First Alarm’s procedures. This job includes the opportunity to work on large prevailing wage projects as a lead technician and covers the Bay Area as needed. The lead technician/foreman will be responsible for field installation, panel make up, programming, and final with the AHJ. Some jobs are "parts and smarts" and the lead technician/foreman will be responsible for managing the installation with the contractor and system commissioning.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
· Possess electro-mechanical aptitude intrusion/fire/security systems engineering knowledge.
· Five (5) years of experience with fire/intrusion security alarm systems, access control and/or video.
· May participate in designing large integrated network-based systems
· Install engineered networked multi-disciplinary systems
· Install systems involving multi-site solutions
· Necessary understanding of networked solutions and interfacing with customer’s IT staff
· Ability to work independently or with installation teams
· Professional appearance with clear communication/listening skills with customers
· Ability to communicate with internal staff on customer installs and/or issues
PREFERRED ABILITIES & EXPERIENCE:
· Must have an active Fire Life Safety certification
· Must have excellent written/verbal communication, organizational and listening skills
· Must have a good DMV record and be over the age of 21 to drive our vehicles
· Must be able to maintain a calm, professional demeanor while working at customer sites and speaking with difficult customers
· Must be punctual and reliable
· Passionate about implementing changes to a growing company
· Must have a minimum of five years' experience
· NICET Certification a plus
· Notifier experience a plus
· Honeywell, DMP, Radionics, March Networks, Digital Watchdog, Sielox, RS2, Brivo, Axis, and Video knowledge a plus
· DOD and DOE experience a plus
· U.L.-F.M. experience a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Prolonged periods sitting in vehicle and or standing at customer sites
· Must be able to lift up to 15-25 pounds at a time
· Use hands to handle, push, pull equipment
· Ability to stand, twist, walk, grasp and reach for extended periods of time
· Regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five pounds
· Must be able to erect, work on, and take down a ladder
· Able to travel as needed
