Job Overview
First Alarm Restoration looking for a Freelance Restoration Technician where your expertise will be vital in restoring properties affected by fire, water, mold, and other damages. We are a Firefighter owned and operated startup in the Placer County Area. We need someone with experience and able to be available, yet flexible. This will likely become full-time work very soon pending performance. We are here to make a massive company in the area so get in early.
Duties
- Respond promptly to emergency calls for fire, flood, mold, or water damage restoration projects.
- Perform cleaning and debris removal using hand tools and power tools to prepare sites for restoration.
- Conduct fire and flood restoration activities, including water extraction, drying, and structural drying processes.
- Execute mold remediation procedures following safety protocols to eliminate mold growth and prevent recurrence.
- Assist with asbestos abatement projects ensuring proper containment and disposal procedures are followed.
- Utilize Xactimate software for accurate damage assessment estimates and documentation.
- Apply respiratory protection and other safety measures during hazardous material handling or contaminated environments.
- Use construction experience and hand tools to repair or replace damaged structures, flooring, carpets, or drywall.
- Support carpet cleaning efforts and perform general site cleanup to ensure a safe, sanitized environment.
- Follow all industry standards for restoration work while maintaining high-quality service delivery.
Experience
- Preferably IICRC certified
- Proven experience in the restoration industry with a focus on water damage, fire damage, mold remediation, or related fields.
- Familiarity with Xactimate estimating software is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience with power tools, hand tools, and construction techniques relevant to restoration projects.
- Knowledge of respiratory protection equipment and safety protocols during hazardous material handling.
- Prior involvement in emergency response readiness activities is a plus.
- Construction background or related technical training enhances your ability to perform repairs efficiently.
- Experience with asbestos abatement procedures ensures compliance with safety regulations when necessary.
