Position Overview
The Market Manager is responsible for building and owning FireRock's presence within an assigned territory. This role focuses on proactive market development with the architects, designers, builders, and distributors who shape luxury custom homes, while managing opportunities from early engagement through order fulfillment.
The position is field-based and requires regular time in market, strong pipeline discipline, and close coordination with internal teams.
Core Responsibilities
Market Planning & Territory Strategy
- Own a market plan for each assigned market, with clear goals for FireRock's growth
- Develop a deep understanding of each market — the leading builders, design professionals, installers, and distribution partners
- Maintain a clear view of market activity and the opportunity it represents
Market Presence & Relationship Development
- Spend consistent, meaningful time in market building relationships across the specifier, builder, installer, and distributor network
- Drive early project engagement to influence specifications
- Conduct AIA presentations, lunch-and-learns, and focused product trainings
Lead Generation & Opportunity Management
- Generate and develop new opportunities within the assigned market
- Own and manage sales opportunities from early engagement through close
- Maintain ownership of opportunity scope and pricing consistency across all markets
- Partner with distributors to serve customers in distributor-supported markets
- Align with distribution partners on pricing and scope early in the quoting process
- Maintain direct involvement with the customer throughout the sales process
- Keep opportunities moving through close and execution
Pipeline Visibility & CRM Discipline
- Maintain accurate, current CRM records for all accounts and opportunities following FireRock Salesforce usage guidelines
- Keep pipeline stages, timing, and probabilities realistic
- Provide visibility into upcoming demand to support production planning
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Communicate upcoming demand, special requirements, and timing to production and leadership team
- Coordinate with shipping and operations to align deliveries and resolve issues
- Serve as a point of continuity between customers and internal teams
Market & Product Feedback
- Share relevant feedback on customer needs, pricing pressure, and competitors
- Identify emerging design and construction trends
- Surface product or process issues impacting sales or execution
