What You Will Do:
- Maintains a sufficient amount of supplies on patient units and distributes supplies to units when requested (including STAT requests).
- Processes instruments and supplies by cleaning, packaging, sterilizing and storing in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Checks for outdated supplies, rotates supplies and assists in keeping a clean and orderly department by putting supplies away correctly.
- Checks specialty carts and follows up on patient charge compliance.
- Maintains equipment for patient care. Documents loss of equipment, instruments, and/or supplies.
What You Will Need:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- If not currently certified, must successfully complete an approved sterile processing certification program within two years of hire date in department. Certification must be kept current.
- Must have multi-tasking and advanced critical thinking skills, and the ability to maintain these characteristics when working alone.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations.
- Ability to keep orderly records.
- Ability to understand instructions and communicate effectively in both written and oral forms.
