Role Description The Human Resources Director is a full-time, on-site role based in Rockville, MD. This role is responsible for leading the HR function, including developing and implementing HR strategies, policies, and programs that support organizational goals. Day-to-day responsibilities include overseeing employee relations, managing performance review processes, guiding managers on HR best practices, and ensuring compliance with labor and employment laws and regulations. The Human Resources Director will also direct recruitment and onboarding, support professional development initiatives, and drive employee engagement and retention efforts. This role collaborates closely with leadership to align workforce planning, compensation, and benefits with business needs while fostering an inclusive, high-performance culture.
Qualifications
- Strong Human Resources (HR) leadership experience, including developing and managing HR programs and initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and maintain clear and compliant HR Policies that support organizational objectives.
- Proven experience in Employee Relations, including coaching leaders, resolving workplace issues, and promoting a positive, inclusive work environment.
- Hands-on experience with Performance Management processes, including goal setting, feedback, and development planning.
- Solid knowledge of Labor and Employment Law, with a track record of ensuring regulatory compliance and mitigating risk.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
- Experience in a technical, engineering, or consulting environment is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR) is a plus.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and exercise sound judgment in decision-making.
