Responsibilities
* Install, replace, and maintain heating, air-conditioning, air-quality, refrigeration, and control systems
* Use electrical testing equipment to check circuits and components
* Test pipe or tubing joints and connections for leaks
* Join pipes/tubing from equipment to fuel, water, or refrigerant sources
* Lay out and connect electrical wiring according to diagrams
* Diagnose and repair HVAC problems, including component installation and replacement
* Estimate costs of repairs and services for customers
* Perform preventive maintenance and warranty services
* Read and apply electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams
* Maintain accurate project and parts records
* Explain proper equipment use to customers
* Comply with all standards, codes, policies, and safety procedures
Qualifications
* High school diploma or GED required
* 1 year of HVAC-related experience (apprenticeship or field)
* Certification or associate degree from an HVAC technical program preferred
* EPA 608 refrigerant recovery certification (Type II preferred)
* Required state and local HVAC technician licenses
* Basic understanding of electrical wiring and connections
* Comfortable working in crawl spaces and attics
* Excellent math, communication, and problem-solving skills
* Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
* Ability to lift 50 lbs independently or 100 lbs with assistance
