POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly experienced, certified Fire Alarm Servcie Technician to join our service team. This role is focused on testing, inspection, troubleshooting, servicing, and programming of commercial fire alarm systems. The ideal candidate is confident working independently, mentoring junior technicians, and handling complex system diagnostics in compliance with NFPA 72 and local AHJ requirements

OBJECTIVES
- Perform inspection, testing, maintenance, and service of fire alarm systems in commercial and residential buildings
- Independently diagnose and troubleshoot complex system issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions
- Service and program fire alarm systems including Siemens, Autocall, and Honeywell platforms
- Conduct system programming, modifications, and panel customization to meet project and client requirements
- Interpret system logs, trends, and performance data to proactively identify deficiencies or improvement opportunities
- Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and testing equipment to ensure system integrity and compliance
- Collaborate with project managers, service coordinators, and dispatch to prioritize and resolve service calls efficiently
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior technicians and apprentices
- Complete accurate documentation including service reports, inspection records, and work orders
- Maintain compliance with NFPA 72 (Chapter 14), state regulations, local codes, and company policies
- Follow all safety procedures to protect yourself, your team, and customers
COMPETENCIES, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE
- Active State Fire Alarm Certification and/or NICET Level II (minimum)
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in fire alarm inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and service
- Strong working knowledge of NFPA 72, including testing and inspection requirements
- Proven experience servicing and programming Siemens, Autocall, and Honeywell fire alarm systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and system documentation
- Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Professional communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to spend prolonged periods of time standing, sitting, or walking
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs
- Wear safety attire, such as goggles or other protective clothing as necessary
- Could be exposed to sounds and noise levels that are uncomfortable and distracting
- Requires the ability to raise, manipulate and maneuver tools, components and materials and handle a variety of items, equipment, control knobs, switches, etc.
- Work in high or elevated places and/or in tight spaces
