Reinsurance Accountant – St. Petersburg, FL

This opportunity is ideal for candidates with solid experience in general and reinsurance accounting who are looking to deepen their expertise in statutory reporting and financial analysis. Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience
- At least 2 years of reinsurance or insurance-specific accounting
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Proficiency in Excel and general ledger systems
- Familiarity with GAAP; SAP exposure preferred
- Experience with Schedule F reporting is a strong plus
Description:
- Prepare and post monthly reinsurance premiums, losses, and settlements
- Reconcile reinsurance accounts and cash receipts with detailed accuracy
- Collaborate with brokers, reinsurers, and internal departments (Claims, Underwriting, Actuarial)
- Assist in audit support, internal controls, and year-end collateral processes
- Interpret reinsurance contracts for appropriate accounting treatment
- Enhance reinsurance accounting workflows for efficiency and compliance
