Business Development Manager - Government Affairs

About the Role

We are seeking a commercially driven Business Development Manager to grow relationships with AI and emerging technology companies. This is a strategic, consultative role focused on engaging senior decision-makers and positioning policy, regulatory and government affairs solutions to organisations operating in rapidly evolving sectors such as agentic AI, open-source AI, decentralised AI and AI infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Identify and engage AI and emerging technology companies across global markets
• Build relationships with founders, CEOs, General Counsels, Heads of Policy and other senior stakeholders
• Generate new business opportunities through outreach, referrals, partnerships and industry networks
• Develop tailored commercial proposals aligned with client regulatory and policy priorities
• Represent the organisation at AI, technology and policy-related events
• Maintain strong pipeline management, reporting and CRM discipline
• Track developments across AI regulation, governance and emerging technology policy

Requirements

• Proven experience in business development, consulting or strategic sales roles
• Experience selling advisory, regulatory, policy, consulting or membership-led services
• Strong ability to engage and influence C-level stakeholders
• Understanding of AI, emerging technology or regulated technology sectors
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote, international environment

Highly Desirable

• Existing network within AI, Web3, fintech or deep tech sectors
• Experience with AI governance, public policy or government affairs
