What are the responsibilities and job description for the Systems Engineer (Python / Kubernetes) position at Fintal Partners?
We’re looking for a hands-on Systems Engineer to join a team focused on strategy and execution systems. This role sits close to live trading, where technology, data, and market activity intersect.
You’ll take ownership of systems that support trading strategies, build automation to improve speed and efficiency, and help ensure everything runs reliably in fast-moving market conditions.
This is a strong fit for someone with a background in SRE or production engineering who wants to work closer to real-time trading environments where performance and responsiveness are critical.
What You’ll Do
- Monitor and support trading systems in real time, ensuring performance and stability during market hours
- Investigate and resolve production issues across distributed systems, identifying root causes and preventing recurrence
- Build tools and automation to streamline operations and reduce manual effort
- Work closely with traders, quants, and engineers to enhance systems and workflows
- Continuously improve reliability, performance, and operational processes
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar field (or equivalent experience)
- 3 years in site reliability, systems, or production engineering—ideally in real-time or high-performance environments
- Strong scripting skills (Python and Bash)
- Experience managing Linux-based production systems; Kubernetes experience is a plus
- Familiarity with tools such as Prometheus, Kafka, SQL/NoSQL databases, or similar technologies
- A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to operate under pressure
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
Why This Role
You’ll work on systems that directly impact trading outcomes, with immediate feedback on your contributions. The role offers exposure to both engineering and trading domains, alongside experienced practitioners, with the autonomy to build, automate, and improve systems in a fast-paced environment.
Salary : $250,000 - $400,000
