About Finance Forward Automotive

Finance Forward Automotive, through its Finsist division, provides automotive finance administrative services. This includes building and operating Dealer-Owned Finance Companies (DOFCs) for new and used automotive dealerships and dealer groups. As a Fintech company, we provide turnkey administration across underwriting, funding, servicing, collections, accounting, tax, compliance, and risk — letting dealerships capture the economics of their own finance portfolios without standing up the infrastructure from scratch.

Each DOFC is its own program with its own rules. That makes our work less about running a script and more about applying judgment to the file in front of us. We're a lean team that values ownership, decision quality, and people who can move between disciplines when the work calls for it.

The Role

We're hiring a Senior Loss Mitigation, Asset Recovery & Insurance Specialist to lead complex account resolution and recovery activities across our DOFC portfolios. This is a senior individual contributor role on a small team, reporting to the VP of Servicing. You'll own the full lifecycle of distressed accounts — from first signs of trouble through repossession, insurance recovery, asset disposition, and final reconciliation.

This role is best suited for someone who is energized by interpretation, not just execution. Volumes are low, files are complex, and rules vary by program. You'll have direct influence on policy, vendor selection, and process design — and your decisions will materially affect portfolio performance.

What Makes This Role Different

•    Supports multiple DOFC programs, each with unique requirements.

•    Requires interpretation and judgment, not just execution.

•    Low-volume, high-complexity environment.

•    Lean team with broad ownership expectations across servicing functions.

•    Outcomes are measurable — recovery rates, cure rates, and decision quality.

What You'll Own

•    Loss Mitigation Strategy & Decisioning. Own case-by-case decisions across multiple DOFC portfolios — extensions, modifications, settlements, and charge-off determinations. Balance cure economics against loss-given-default.

•    Repossession Management. Direct vendor selection, SLA enforcement, skip tracing, condition report review, and redemption / reinstatement decisions. Manage cost-per-recovery and turn time.

•    Insurance Recovery. Coordinate total-loss insurance claims and GAP claims from FNOL through funds receipt. Manage POA, lien-payoff, and force-placed insurance refunds.

•    Warranty & Ancillary Cancellations. Oversee VSC, GAP, and other ancillary product cancellations on charged-off, paid-off, and reinstated accounts. Reconcile refunds with lender and dealer chargebacks.

•    Remarketing & Asset Disposition. Select auction lanes (Manheim, ADESA, others), make reconditioning trade-offs, and own recovery rate as a measured KPI.

•    DOFC Program Interpretation. Translate each program's rules to the situation in front of you. Document precedent so decisions are consistent and repeatable.

•    Compliance & Risk Management. Operate within FDCPA, UDAAP, SCRA, FCRA, GLBA, and applicable state repossession and collection laws across all states where DOFCs operate.

•    Process & Infrastructure Improvement. Surface automation and workflow improvement opportunities; partner with operations leadership to build them.

•    Reporting & Communication. Provide clear, concise updates to leadership and DOFC clients on portfolio health, recovery activity, and exception cases.

What You BringRequired

•    5 years in auto finance servicing, loss mitigation, or recovery — direct experience required, not adjacent.

•    Hands-on repossession experience: vendor management, skip tracing, condition report review, and redemption / reinstatement decisions.

•    Working knowledge of FDCPA, UDAAP basics, SCRA, and state repossession law (Texas at minimum).

•    Demonstrated ability to make sound judgment calls in ambiguous situations and clearly explain the reasoning.

•    Comfort operating across multiple programs or portfolios with different rules simultaneously.

•    Experience with at least one loan origination or servicing platform (e.g., Shaw, Defi, NLS, LoanPro, Nortridge, or comparable).

•    Strong written and verbal communication skills — including the ability to brief senior leaders and clients concisely.

•    Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and standard productivity tools.

Preferred

•    Experience with subprime or near-prime auto portfolios.

•    Direct insurance claim filing experience (total-loss, GAP).

•    Prior work with multiple lenders, captives, or dealer-owned finance structures.

•    Experience documenting workflows, SOPs, or training materials.

•    Familiarity with auction and remarketing economics (MMR, recon trade-offs, retail vs. wholesale).

•    Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.

Who Thrives Here

•    Self-starters who don't need a queue handed to them.

•    Operators comfortable wearing multiple hats.

•    People who get energy from solving the messy 10% of files, not the routine 90%.

•    Strong ownership mindset — you fix what's broken even when it isn't strictly your job.

•    Direct communicators who push back when something doesn't make sense.

Working Conditions

•    Hybrid schedule: four days on-site at our Coppell, TX office and one day remote.

•    Standard business hours; occasional after-hours availability for urgent recovery matters.

•    Primarily seated work using a computer; ability to communicate by phone, email, and video.

•    Travel is less than 10% — occasional vendor visits, auctions, or company events.

•    Reasonable accommodations available — see ADA notice below.

Compensation & Benefits

•    Base salary. $75,000 – $95,000, depending on experience, skills, and internal equity.

•    Benefits. Medical, dental, and vision insurance; 401(k); paid time off; and company holidays.

•    Relocation. Not available for this role.

Pay Transparency: Finance Forward complies with applicable state and local pay transparency laws. The published salary range reflects the expected range for this role; actual offers depend on experience, skills, and internal equity.
