About the Role
We are a growing chemical company seeking a driven and experienced Plant Manager to oversee our Midland, TX facility. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality operations while helping guide the plant through a period of expansion and process improvement.
The ideal candidate combines operational expertise with a proactive leadership style — someone who can manage people effectively, ensure compliance and quality, and continuously look for ways to improve production, safety, and cost efficiency as the company scales.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and Develop the Team: Manage daily plant operations, motivate and coach staff, and maintain a strong, accountable workforce.
- Safety First: Ensure all operations comply with company and regulatory safety standards. Promote and enforce a culture of zero incidents.
- Quality & Compliance: Guarantee all products are manufactured within specification and shipped with accurate documentation and certifications.
- Inventory Management: Maintain up-to-date, accurate inventory systems to support uninterrupted production and timely shipping.
- Process & Innovation: Partner with the engineering team to identify new technologies and process improvements that boost efficiency, reduce downtime, and support future growth.
- Cost Control: Work closely with management to manage budgets, control expenses, and improve cost efficiency across operations.
- Recruitment & Retention: Build and sustain a high-performing, dependable team capable of meeting current and future production goals.
- Expansion Leadership: Play an active role in scaling operations — supporting capacity growth, facility upgrades, and long-term strategic planning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing, or related field preferred (experience may substitute).
- 5 years of experience in plant or operations management, ideally in a manufacturing or processing industry.
- Demonstrated success leading teams and driving measurable improvements in safety, quality, and productivity.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience working in a growing or scaling company environment is a plus.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer
- Must be willing to work fully on-site, Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with occasional flexibility for extended hours when needed
