Auto Parts Specialist

Position Summary

The duties of Inventory Parts clerk are to work closely with the parts manager to efficiently control the parts inventory and perform administrative-related tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

· Order all parts notated on the Used Car Inspection (UCI) for inventory vehicles

• Orders parts daily for Service writers and mechanics
• Receive and check in parts daily
• Write purchase orders for parts as they arrive
• Notifies the individuals concerned of the arrival of specially ordered parts in a timely manner

· If parts are for inventory vehicles, send email out requesting the vehicle in service

· Once said vehicle gets to the shop, create a Repair Order (RO)

· Give RO to Shop Manager

• Ensure technicians turn in defective parts necessary for warranty scrap and tag them appropriately
• Determine appropriate inventory levels and ensure periodic parts turnover
• Adjust stock to eliminate accumulation of unused or old parts

· Confirming that parts are appropriately coded so the dealership can claim a complete refund for unused factory stock

• Maintain records of all parts and special-order parts inventory in a clean and orderly manner
• Maintain records of vehicles at dealerships for warranty repairs

· Ensures that the area set aside for parts is clean and tidy

· Other duties as assigned by management

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Efficient Time Management skills

· Attention to detail

· Organized

· Excellent ability to multi-task

· Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook is essential

· Ability to work well as a team

· Excellent oral and communication skills

Pay: $16.00 - $17.50 per hour

Expected hours: 45 per week
