Primary Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Coach in planning and conducting daily practices
- Provide specialized instruction in pitching mechanics, conditioning, and game strategy (preferred)
- Support skill development for all players, including position-specific fundamentals
- Assist with game preparation, in-game coaching, and post-game evaluations
- Promote a culture of accountability, respect, and academic responsibility
- Help monitor and support student-athlete academic progress and eligibility
- Supervise athletes during practices, games, and team travel
- Assist with program operations such as equipment management, field setup, and communication
- Model positive leadership and uphold Finneytown Local School District policies and athletic expectations
- Previous softball coaching experience at the middle school, high school, club, or collegiate level
- Pitching experience as a coach or former player (strongly preferred)
- Knowledge of current softball rules, techniques, and training methods
- Ability to build positive relationships with student-athletes, parents, and staff
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
- Ability to meet all Ohio Department of Education and Finneytown Local School District coaching requirements
- Completion of required background checks, certifications, and coaching credentials
- Commitment to the academic and personal growth of student-athletes
Work Schedule
- Seasonal position aligned with the high school softball season
- Includes after-school practices, evening games, weekends, and occasional travel
