Assistant: Facilities, Maintenance and Custodial Services

Overview

· Assist in the management of proper care and maintenance of school facilities.

· Provide and perform custodial duties, as assigned;

· Assist in daily maintenance and custodial activities, which may include but not limited to cleaning, trash removal, replacing locks, painting, carpet, floor tile, window, drywall replacement and or repair, order cleaning supplies, and parts for equipment and buildings;

· Assist in performing preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment, including plumbing, HVAC and electrical systems;

· Assist in performing inspections and tests of security systems, safety lighting, fire extinguishers, fire alarm system, doors, to ensure proper operation and compliance with applicable codes and regulations;

· Make minor engineering and construction judgment to resolve problems;

· Assist with the removal of snow and ice from sidewalks and roadway;

· Assume the duties and responsibilities of Director of Facilities in his/her absence;

· Assist with Facility Inspections (monthly, quarterly, and yearly);

· Assist with after hours and weekend emergency calls involving facility needs;

· Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications:

· Graduation from a high school or possession of an appropriate equivalency diploma;

· Previous experience in specialty trades such as plumbing, electrical work, heating, ventilating and air conditioning installation.

· Demonstrate knowledge of construction codes, health and safety regulations.

· Have excellent organizational skills.

· Ability to work independently.

· Have excellent integrity and demonstrate good moral character and initiative.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
