What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Teacher position at Finley Kids Preschool and Daycare?
A teacher at our preschool is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom where children can learn and grow. Teachers create meaningful learning experiences, build positive relationships with children and families, and maintain compliance with all center policies and Missouri child care licensing regulations.
Essential Responsibilities
- Maintain active supervision to ensure the safety and well-being of all children.
- Create and implement age-appropriate themed lesson plans and engaging daily activities.
- Foster children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development through positive interactions and play-based learning.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
- Complete daily documentation in Brightwheel, including attendance, activities, meals, naps, toileting, and observations.
- Communicate professionally with parents regarding their child’s day, progress, and any concerns.
- Use positive guidance techniques to encourage appropriate behavior and social skills.
- Follow all licensing regulations, health and safety procedures, and center policies.
- Work collaboratively with fellow staff members and assist other classrooms when needed.
- Complete annual training requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism at all times.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience working with young children preferred.
- Ability to meet Missouri child care licensing requirements, including required background screenings.
- Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
- Dependable, positive, patient, and passionate about early childhood education.
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
