Assist with the installation of new asphalt surfaces. Assist with the repair of existing asphalt surfaces.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Distributes asphaltic materials by raking, smoothing and adjusting surface irregularities.
- Restores surface finish, spreads asphalt to proper grade and finishes before compaction.
- Matches and finishes freshly made asphalt paving joints evenly.
Qualifications (Experience, Education & Certifications, Key Attributes):
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Pass pre-employment screen and criminal background check
- Previous work experience in construction or related as an asphalt laborer or flagger.
- Knowledge of road and traffic regulations
- Previous related experience of 3-5 years needed in the construction field and/or training
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods: Constantly
- Moving about to accomplish tasks at a worksite or moving from one worksite to another: Constantly
- Moving in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments, such as stooping, kneeling, or crouching: Occasionally
