Branch Manager

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a Branch Manager to lead a technical outside sales team across North and South Carolina. This role focuses on growing sales, increasing gross margins, achieving annual branch goals, and developing a high-performing team of technical sales professionals. The ideal candidate combines technical knowledge, sales leadership, account development, and a passion for coaching and supporting sales teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and manage a team of 4–12 outside technical sales professionals across North and South Carolina.
• Drive sales growth, gross margin improvement, and achievement of annual branch targets.
• Travel regularly with sales team members to coach them, support customer accounts, and help win sales opportunities.
• Monitor sales performance, gross margins, focus product sales, sales pipelines, and customer engagement activities.
• Review sales opportunities, identify stalled deals, and ensure appropriate follow-up and next steps.
• Recruit, hire, train, coach, and retain high-performing sales professionals.
• Develop emerging talent and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates for future hiring needs.
• Train new employees on established sales methodologies and support their certification within six months of employment.
• Share successful sales strategies across territories and leverage specialists and technical resources to support customer opportunities.
• Use sales tools, profitability calculators, customer value resources, and technical materials to improve sales outcomes.
• Monitor expenses and maintain branch spending within established budgets.
• Collaborate effectively with other departments to support business objectives.
• Follow established quality procedures, company values, and operational standards.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Technical education or equivalent technical experience.
• Experience leading, coaching, or managing a sales team.
• Proven ability to grow sales and improve gross margins within a defined market.
• Strong customer relationship management, account development, and sales coaching skills.
• Ability to analyze sales performance, manage pipelines, and drive accountability.
• Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively throughout North and South Carolina.
• Ability to work from the Concord, NC branch when not traveling with the sales team.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in Fluid Power Technology, Robotics, Motion Control Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience in technical sales, industrial automation, fluid power, or related industrial markets.
• Familiarity with structured sales methodologies, sales funnel management, and technical customer solutions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is based in Concord, North Carolina, with significant time spent traveling alongside the technical sales team to support customer accounts, develop employees, and advance sales opportunities.
