Full Job DescriptionPosition Overview

The Technical Service Representative is responsible for managing the daily technical service requirements of assigned customer accounts and territories. This position ensures customers receive responsive, effective, and professional technical support while helping maintain product quality and resolve coating, product, and process-related concerns.

This is a hands-on role that works primarily within customer manufacturing facilities, laboratories, distribution locations, and other company or customer sites. Regular travel is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitor and help ensure the quality and performance of coatings.
• Analyze customer concerns and troubleshoot technical or process-related problems.
• Manage service activities within assigned customer accounts or territories.
• Conduct on-site product testing and refinement.
• Assist with customer personnel training and development.
• Support the resolution of product and process issues.
• Complete service and process documentation accurately and on time.
• Conduct process audits as assigned.
• Maintain current knowledge of company products and relevant industry trends.
• Provide regular reports regarding service activities, accomplishments, and customer support.
• Professionally represent FinishWorks at trade shows, industry events, and company functions.
• Collaborate with internal team members and escalate complex technical issues when appropriate.
• Perform other technical service responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least one year of related finishing experience or laboratory formulation experience.
• Professional training, business-related education, or participation in relevant professional seminars is preferred.

License Requirement

• A valid driver’s license is required.

Physical Requirements

While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, sit, bend, stoop, squat, grasp, handle materials, communicate, and hear. The position may also require climbing, kneeling, carrying, pushing, and pulling.

The employee must regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds. The employee must also be able to meet the physical demands associated with frequent travel to and from customer locations. Work Environment

This position regularly works in manufacturing environments where moderate solvent odors and the normal hazards associated with handling, compounding, and applying coatings may be present. Most work will be performed within customer or prospective customer manufacturing facilities, with additional work at corporate, laboratory, and distribution locations.

Appropriate personal protective equipment is provided. Employees are expected to follow applicable HMIS and safety data sheet requirements when working with raw materials and coatings.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $70,000 to $90,000 per year. The actual starting salary will be based on the candidate’s relevant experience, technical knowledge, qualifications, and overall alignment with the requirements of the position.
