What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electronics R&D Technician position at Finish Line Product Development?
Are you a builder, a problem-solver, and a tech enthusiast?
FinishLinePDSis looking for a hands-on Electronics R&D Technician to help us turn "what if" into "here it is." In this role, you won't just be following schematics—you’ll be helping to refine them. You will work side-by-side with our engineering team to prototype, test, and troubleshoot the next generation of products.
What You’ll Do:
- Prototype Assembly: Build complex PCBA prototypes, including fine-pitch SMT soldering, wire harness fabrication, and mechanical assembly.
- Testing & Validation: Execute test plans to verify hardware performance, thermal limits, and signal integrity using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and DMMs.
- Troubleshooting: Perform root-cause analysis on failed boards down to the component level.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed lab notes and assist engineers in updating schematics or BOMs (Bill of Materials) based on build findings.
- Lab Management: Keep the R&D lab "innovation-ready" by managing component inventory and calibrating equipment.
What We’re Looking For:
- The Hands: Expert soldering skills (SMT and Through-hole). Experience with rework stations and microscopic assembly is a major plus.
- The Brain: Ability to read and interpret complex electronic schematics and PCB layouts.
- The Tools: Proficiency with lab equipment (Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators, Power Supplies). Experience with Altium, Eagle, or KiCad is a bonus.
- The Mindset: A "hacker" mentality. You enjoy taking things apart to see how they work and don't stop until you find the solution to a bug.
- Experience: 2-5 years of experience in an electronics lab or manufacturing environment, or an Associate’s Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology.
Why Join our team
- Innovation First: Work on cutting-edge technology before it ever hits the market.
- Growth: We invest in our team
- Competitive Package: Competitive Salary and health benefits.
- Culture: A collaborative environment where the best idea wins, regardless of your title.
