What are the responsibilities and job description for the Development Coordinator (PA) position at Finger Lakes Community College?
Under the supervision of the Director of Development, the Development Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the planning and coordinating for all Advancement communications and executing this plan for both internal and external audiences. This includes annual solicitations, email communications, creating content for the Laker magazine, social media, and our Day of Giving marketing efforts. The Coordinator assists team with all aspects of fundraising, including donor relations, alumni strategies, annual, major, and planned giving.

Qualifications:

Education: Associates degree Required, Bachelors degree preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Experience: One years experience in fundraising in an education setting preferred. Experience cultivating relationships with potential donors is strongly desired. Familiarity with marketing, social media, alumni, donor, and board relations preferred. Must have a working knowledge of word processing and database management (Blackbaud strongly preferred). Detail-oriented with excellent follow through skills. Ability to work independently within a small team.

Special Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills and effective interpersonal skills required. Ability to interact and communicate effectively with diverse populations.
Essential Functions:

Provides support in developing and implementing objectives for Advancement programs with the goals of increasing annual donations, event revenue, and engagement opportunities for all audiences.

Works collaboratively with Director, Assistant Director and external departments to develop a strategy for annual communications/solicitations; direct mail, phonathon and electronic communication including the timing, audience segmentation, tailored messaging, signatory, marketing inserts etc. Responsible to execute this strategy. Creates all direct mail appeals for each appropriate constituency. Works with vendor to ensure quality and timing of mailings.

Assists in the planning and execution of alumni/donor relations events and activities including
stewardship and cultivation activities, preparation of materials, and appropriate follow-up. -
Contributes relevant information for FLCC social media on behalf of the Advancement division
to support fundraising and alumni engagement efforts and collaborate across college departments to leverage best practices in digital communications. -
Creates alumni and donor e-newsletters including written copy, design and layout, production
and schedule emailing. -
Assists Director with developing and executing a plan for annual and long-term fundraising
objectives including strategies for increasing new donors and renewing past donors. -
Performs other duties and special projects as assigned by the Advancement leadership and/or
other duties as assigned by the Director of Development which are consistent with the
responsibilities of the Director of Development and the Division of Advancement.

Benefits and salary range:
Applicants receiving benefits through the New York State Retirement System should review state regulations regarding post-retirement employment. This position is not eligible for employment under a Section 211 waiver.

Competitive starting salary in the range of $50,745 to $53,730 and is commensurate with qualifications
