Description
As a Field Surveyor at FINFROCK, you will play a critical role in supporting the successful layout and installation of our precast building systems. You will work directly on active FINFROCK job sites to provide accurate measurements, verify installation tolerances, and ensure the precision of our proprietary building components. This position is essential to maintaining the high standards of quality, accuracy, and efficiency that define FINFROCK projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Position and secure prism poles to support accurate robotic total station (RTS) measurements and layout tasks.
- Perform layout of shim locations and precast to ensure proper placement prior to erection and installation.
- Verify that precast pieces are set at the correct elevation and are within FINFROCK’s tolerances.
- Check the location of DT (Down Thread) and DD (Double Dowel) components and confirm whether elements are ahead or behind designated placement points.
- Set and monitor prisms on walls or other structural components to track potential settlement.
- Conduct field layout for foundations, walls, slabs, embeds, anchor bolts, utilities, and other structural elements.
- Create accurate field documentation, including daily reports, layout notes, and as-built information.
- Communicate layout information, discrepancies, and field issues to the Superintendent, Project Management, and Erection teams in a timely manner.
- Maintain survey instruments, ensuring equipment is calibrated, clean, and operating efficiently.
- Follow all FINFROCK safety policies, quality control standards, and jobsite procedures.
Qualifications
- Experience using robotic total stations, prisms, and data collectors.
- Ability to read and interpret structural, architectural, and precast erection drawings.
- Understanding of layout methods for shims, embeds, anchor bolts, and precast assemblies.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently on active construction sites.
- Effective communication and documentation skills.
- Physically able to work outdoors in varying conditions and navigate active job sites.
