Senior IT Business Analyst (CC&B)

Position Summary

PG&E is seeking a Senior IT Business Analyst (CC&B) to act as a strategic partner between business teams and IT, leading requirements analysis, solution design, and process improvements for customer care and billing systems. This role is responsible for translating business needs into detailed functional specifications, performing feasibility analyses, and ensuring solutions align with business strategy, regulatory requirements, and operational goals.

The analyst will support medium-to-high complexity initiatives, lead requirement efforts, mentor junior analysts, and play a key role in shaping technology solutions used across PG&E’s customer operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, and propose IT solutions with minimal oversight.
• Lead medium–high complexity requirement-gathering efforts and coach junior analysts.
• Document business requirements, functional specifications, and process designs.
• Review requirement and design documents for quality and accuracy.
• Evaluate alternative solutions and recommend optimal approaches to business problems.
• Analyze end-to-end business processes and identify improvement opportunities.
• Support project business cases, estimates, and planning activities.
• Ensure compliance with SOX and other regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, influencing outcomes and fostering alignment.
• Prepare or review test plans and validate results; support application testing and maintenance.
• Provide ongoing consulting to clients and respond to business inquiries promptly.
• Review technical specifications for alignment with business needs.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to team process improvements.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 4 years experience developing functional requirements, functional design, and UX/UI design.
• 3 years of business analysis experience; participation in high-complexity projects.

Desired Qualifications

• 3 years of Oracle CC&B experience and CC&B data modeling.
• Experience working with Call Center or back-office business processes.
• Working knowledge of:
• SQL and relational databases
• UML and technical documentation
• Database/schema architecture
• MS Office, Visio, PowerPoint
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or within a team.
• Experience collaborating on enterprise system enhancements and cross-functional initiatives.
