Junior Electrical Engineer

Job Title: Engineer

Location: Vacaville, CA (Hybrid – 2 days onsite per week)

Duration: 10 Months

Employment Type: Contract (W2)

What the Client is Looking For

• Local candidates in or near Vacaville, CA only.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Entry-level candidates with 0–1 year of experience are encouraged to apply.
• Basic understanding of Electric Grid, EMS (Energy Management Systems), and SCADA is preferred.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and technical skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access, Visio).

Key Responsibilities

• Create, configure, and maintain EMS operator displays.
• Update displays based on EMS models, field changes, and user requests.
• Support EMS and Training Simulator applications.
• Assist with SCADA display work, modeling, communications, and troubleshooting.
• Perform testing and troubleshooting on EMS systems and supporting applications.
• Support UI changes for SCADA point-to-point testing.
• Provide hardware and technology support to end users.
• Assist with EMS projects, documentation, vendor coordination, and team initiatives.
• Participate in weekly team meetings and collaborate with engineering teams.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or related discipline.
• Basic knowledge of:
• Electric Power Systems
• SCADA
• Energy Management Systems (EMS)
• Troubleshooting and system testing
• Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, Visio)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to learn quickly and work independently.
