Controller
FineLine Technologies, a leading global manufacturer, is seeking an experienced and driven Controller to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting activities within the manufacturing facility. This is a critical leadership role focused on achieving performance metrics, including managing expenses and maximizing profitability.
The Controller will take ownership of the financial budgeting process, ensuring that the facility’s financial operations are managed effectively. This individual will lead daily finance operations, supervise a dedicated team, and oversee general and cost accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions. Additionally, the Controller will be responsible for ensuring internal controls are in place and managing the year-end audit process. As a strategic business partner, the Controller will collaborate closely with the operations team and educate management on finance and accounting procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the monthly close process to include preparation of monthly financial statements and explain variances.
- Maintain standard costs and ensure accurate inventory valuation.
- Develop plant budgets and ongoing financial projections.
- Provide financial insights for decisions on production, costing, and capital projects.
- Safeguard assets, ensure GAAP compliance, and support audits.
- Lead and develop the accounting team, including a Senior Accountant and two offshore FineLine employees, one supporting AP and one supporting AR.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an Accounting Manager, Sr. Staff Accountant, or Controller in a manufacturing environment.
- At least 5 years of combined accounting and cost accounting experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- CMA or CPA certification preferred.
- Experience with Oracle NetSuite, Great Plains, or similar ERP systems. NetSuite experience preferred.
- Advance proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
