Position Summary
The Production Lead – works under the direction of the Production Supervisor to provide on floor leadership and coordination for Production Associates. This role supports daily production operations by guiding associates in the preparation, packaging, and labeling of poultry products and ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Holly Poultry’s quality, food safety, SQF, USDA, and company standards.
The Production Lead works hands-on as part of the production team and serves as a key point of communication and support for associates on the shift.
Qualifications:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assist the Production Supervisor in leading and coordinating operations to meet daily production, quality, and safety goals.

Provide direct, on floor leadership and support to Production Associates performing duties, including assembling, weighing, packaging, labeling, and inspecting poultry products.

Support execution of the daily production plan by ensuring associates are in assigned positions, production flow is maintained, and issues impacting output are communicated promptly to the Supervisor.

Ensure Production Associates are following product specifications, customer requirements, and proper use of production equipment such as scales, labelers, and sealers.

Monitor workflow and production flow throughout the shift; identify issues that may impact productivity, quality, waste, or rework and escalate concerns as needed.

Assist in training, coaching, and developing Production Associates, including reinforcement of GMPs, food safety, SQF requirements, PPE, sanitation, and company policies.

Observe associate performance and provide real-time guidance; communicate performance concerns, attendance issues, or policy violations to the Production Supervisor.

Serve as a communication link between Production Associates, the Production Supervisor, QA, and other departments to ensure timely resolution of quality, safety, or operational issues.

Identify and immediately report equipment issues, product inconsistencies, safety concerns, or environmental concerns to the Supervisor and/or QA.

Perform other duties as assigned to support operations.
