FIND Food Bank is the Desert’s Regional Food Bank, the Feeding America Member food bank that serves the Coachella Valley Desert area of California (commonly known as the Palm Springs, CA area) and is the State of CA’s recognized USDA and primary disaster response food distributor for the region. For over 35 years, FIND has dedicated itself to relieving hunger, the causes of hunger, and the problems associated with hunger through awareness, education, community involvement and mobilizing resources to those in need of food assistance in the eastern Riverside and southern San Bernardino Counties Areas. Our vision is to create a community where people are free of food insecurity by Ending Hunger for Today, Tomorrow and a Lifetime. FIND’s team is committed to the equitable and efficient distribution of healthy food resources, advancing outreach efforts to ensure access to government food assistance and medical programs, rescuing safe and edible foods that would otherwise be wasted in landfills, building community awareness, and leading a community movement of non-profits and organizations committed to ending hunger in our region. Resources are leveraged in a strategic, cost-effective manner to achieve our mission and vision. Since the onset of COVID-19, FIND now feeds almost 175,000 people per month, distributes over 20 million lbs. of food per year, partners with over 100 organizations and runs 44 free Community Mobile Markets to ensure that there are over 140 easily accessible free food locations over a 5,000 sq. mile service area.
SUMMARY of POSITION
The following is a general list of job responsibilities that may be reviewed and/or updated at the conclusion of the probationary period and annually thereafter.
The Inventory Control Coordinator will report directly to the Inventory Control manager to support the established policies, goals and objectives of FIND Food Bank. There will also be frequent interactions with the Director of Operations and the warehouse staff in coordination of the inventory control requirements. The successful candidate will be an organized, analytical person who can assist multiple staff members and is able to manage a constantly changing environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
Inventory
- Generate daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for Feeding America and store donation reporting.
- Keep inventory of daily warehouse supplies, and order as needed to ensure consistent flow and usage of materials, including but not limited to PPE and other items as needed.
- Create and revise all pick-order sheets on a daily and as needed basis, including agencies pick-ups and deliveries, homebound deliveries, volunteer packing menus, Community Mobile Markets, Just in Time distributions, community events and other direct distributions as needed with input from the Community Impact Dept. and Volunteer Program Manager.
- Create tags for all product received, USDA, Cal Foods, general donations.
- Keep inventory of warehouse supplies and order as needed.
- Create all menus for dry goods and produce volunteer packing events with, input from Volunteer Program Manager, minimally 48 hours prior to each packing event or as required.
- Scan and email BOL’s to CAFB and USDA.
- Generate and confirm invoices
- Daily, provide trash out and cycle count reports to finance department for Primarius system updates.
- Confirm weekly inventory cycle counts from receiving and shipping departments, including data entry and Warehouse Manager approvals Input receipts at the receiving desk
- Other duties as assigned
Warehouse, Food Safety, Compliance
· Retrieve and organize computer reports from receiving desk
- Support and assist Director of Operations in compliance and preparation for AIB/Feeding America/USDA audits and other food safety walk-through’s and inspections.
- Manage food drives for distribution and pickup of donation barrels, including routing, confirmation of inventory transactions in Primarius, and letters of gratitude within 5 business days of receiving donation.
- Create daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports as required by supervisor

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
· Ability to use computer and have basic level ability with MS Office software
· Organizational and time management skills
· Communication skills to deal with donors, transportation companies, employees, etc.
· Attention to detail and the ability to read orders, write instructions and complete forms
· Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is preferred
· Communicate with agencies, customers, other employees and supervisors using verbal and written skills
· Ability to adhere to FIND Food Bank’s organizational policies and work standards
· Ability to lift 60 pounds.
· Ability to operate an electric and manual pallet jack.
· Must possess a valid California Driver's License, proof of auto insurance on personal vehicle used, be insurable by FIND’s commercial auto policy provider, and have reliable transportation for business use (mileage reimbursed by FIND for business use.)
· Must be available for evening and weekend work as required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Office environment, extensive computer and phone work; responsible for safe use of equipment; some driving, walking, standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting, and carrying items weighing in excess of 40 pounds. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each responsibility, competency, and essential function satisfactorily.
