Staff Accountant
Location: Colorado Springs, CO 80920
Schedule: Full-time | Monday–Friday
Work Setting: Hybrid
Compensation: $65,000 - $75,000 base salary quarterly profit sharing bonus
Our client is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its finance team in Colorado Springs. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys a mix of general ledger work, reconciliations, month-end support, audit preparation, and cross-functional collaboration in a growing national organization. The key functions for the Staff Accountant include assisting with month-end and year-end closing, monitoring and analyzing customer accounts and accounts receivable, reconciling accounts, assisting with inventory reconciliations, assisting with month-end and year-end closing, and supporting the audit process.

What you will be doing as the Staff Accountant
- Monitor and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Help ensure timely collection of customer payments
- Perform monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts
- Assist with month-end and year-end close activities
- Prepare and support journal entries and general ledger maintenance
- Assist with audit preparation and provide requested documentation
- Maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedules
- Support property and franchise tax reporting
- Assist with inventory reconciliations and reconciliation between software systems
- Partner with internal teams and support additional accounting duties as needed
What you need to be successful as the Staff Accountant
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- At least 3 years of accounting experience, ideally in a for-profit environment
- Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as QuickBooks
- Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, and close processes
- Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
- Ability to manage deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Experience with audit preparation preferred
- Manufacturing, inventory, or cost accounting experience is a plus
- Ability to commute to Colorado Springs, CO 80920
