A well-established, financially strong credit union is seeking an experienced operations executive to join its leadership team. This is an outstanding opportunity for a collaborative leader who is passionate about building high-performing teams, driving operational excellence, and delivering an exceptional member experience.
Reporting directly to the President/CEO, the Vice President of Operations is a key member of the executive leadership team and will provide strategic oversight of branch operations, member service delivery, operational systems, digital banking services, and process improvement initiatives. This leader will help shape the organization's future while ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, employee development, and successful execution of strategic initiatives.
What You'll Do
Operations Leadership & Member Experience
- Lead and develop Branch Managers and frontline teams to deliver exceptional member service and achieve organizational goals.
- Oversee daily branch operations while providing guidance, coaching, and support to resolve operational challenges.
- Foster a culture centered on service excellence, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure a consistent, high-quality member experience across all branch locations.
- Support staffing, performance management, succession planning, and employee development to build a strong, engaged team.
- Drive operational consistency and efficiency across all support functions and branch operations.
Systems, Technology & Operational Excellence
- Lead the implementation of new products, services, and technology enhancements.
- Chair the committee responsible for oversight of the credit union's core processing system.
- Oversee digital banking platforms, card services, and key operational vendor relationships.
- Analyze operational and service metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Streamline processes and workflows to improve efficiency, consistency, and service delivery.
Strategy, Compliance & Executive Leadership
- Partner with the President/CEO and executive leadership team to develop and execute strategic initiatives.
- Serve as the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Officer, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements.
- Ensure adherence to Board-approved policies, federal regulations, and NCUA Rules and Regulations.
- Serve as a member of the Asset/Liability Committee (ALCO).
- Evaluate and recommend enhancements to products, processes, and procedures based on member needs, operational data, and industry trends.
- Collaborate with Marketing to ensure successful execution of branch initiatives, promotions, and member communications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
- Six or more years of progressive leadership experience within a credit union or financial institution.
- Strong knowledge of branch operations, member service, and operational management.
- Experience with core processing systems, digital banking platforms, and card services.
- Working knowledge of credit union regulations and compliance requirements.
- Experience with Corelation, a CCUE designation, and/or graduation from SCMS is a plus.
Additional Information
This position is based in a professional office environment with minimal physical demands. Flexibility is important, as periodic deadlines and business demands may require additional hours. Because this role supports retail branch operations, occasional evenings and weekends may be necessary.
Travel between branch locations and off-site meetings is required. A valid driver's license may be necessary.
